What Tottenham Hotspur fans were chanting as Arsenal were losing the Premier League title

The role Tottenham Hotspur have played in Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge has been a huge talking point.

Mikel Arteta’s side required a favour from their rivals this week when they locked horns against Manchester City.

But instead, Tottenham fell to a 2-0 defeat, to the disappointment and annoyance of the Arsenal fanbase who were cheering their bitter rivals on.

That meant that Arsenal went into the final game of the season needing a win against Everton and Manchester City needed to drop points against West Ham United. The news about Bukayo Saka didn’t help matters.

Hearts were broken pretty much straight away because, inside 18 minutes, Pep Guardiola’s side were 2-0 ahead against David Moyes’ men.

The Hammers did pull a goal back just before half-time, whilst Everton and Arsenal were level at 1-1 after 45 minutes.

News filtered through to Tottenham supporters, who were watching their team against Sheffield United, and it’s fair to say that they were enjoying their neighbours losing the title.

One Spurs fan posted on Twitter what was being chanted at Bramall Lane and it won’t sit well with those from the Emirates.

‘Bottlers again, ole, ole, ole’ was being sung by the Tottenham faithful as the inevitable of their neighbours losing the league was coming to fruition.

Manchester City win the Premier League title

Not many should be surprised because it’s what Man City do and it’s what they have done for close to a decade.

That’s four Premier League titles in a row for Guardiola and they become the first team in English football history to achieve that feat.

If Arsenal fans wanted any sort of comfort, that’s the level of quality they are up against and they aren’t the first team to feel their utter dominance.

Liverpool went down the same road. Two seasons of heartache, before they became champions.

Perhaps, just perhaps, Arsenal will get their wish and their due rewards next season because they have no choice but to go again.
